There was a time when I used to go to bars and endure drunks and loud music but then I realized that I would never meet anyone I cared for in a place like that. So I joined groups related to hobbies that I liked but there weren't any men there, mostly women. I have felt awkward approaching strangers and talking to them as if I were good friends with them, or was in the market for a long term relationship, which in the process of meeting new women is essentially what you have to do.
